The Daily Cal had an article this week saying this Berkeley smoking ban would start in May and that e-cigs WOULD BE ALLOWED. The fine would be I think it was $100 to $500, not $1,500 for smoking tobacco publicly or in buildings except for single family dwellings. I do not think City Council is going to hire a "special task force" to go looking for smokers either but who knows. Their original plan was Draconian, excessive, punitive, all things that are anti-democratic and anti-liberal. Vote them OUT of the City Council. They should be accommodating minorities (smokers are about 6% of the city's population), not punishing us.
